BIRDS - VETERINARIAN

I cannot tell you how important it is to have a good veterinarian that you know and trust to take your bird to when needed. It’s always a good idea to have a veterinarian identified even before you bring any pet home. Even if you have no intention of initially bring you pet to the veterinarian, it is always smart to know where one is and their hours for seeing animals. A good veterinarian will help if you have any questions regarding the care or diet of your bird.

Remember when you are selecting a veterinarian that not all veterinarians work on birds. It’s a good idea to call around beforehand and find one in your area that does handle birds.

Veterinarians are normally great about educating the new pet owner, so if you have never had a bird, just let him or her know. There are a variety of different bird diseases associated with certain types of birds. Your veterinarian will let you know a lot of things such as some of the diseases associated with your type of bird.
