I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Online Dog Training Area of the Joel Silverman's COMPANIONS FOR LIFE™ website. At the top of the page, you will see seven behaviors. When you click on that behavior you will see a series of clips. Some are free, and others are only available on the dog training dvd. This area is designed to help you get started, and also give you an idea of how the clips are arranged in the dog training dvds.

Let's get right into it! As you can see on the navigational bar above, there are seven different behaviors. Each behavior has one of four different colored backgrounds.

PROBLEM SOLVING SECTION - RED

BASIC TRAINING SECTION - ORANGE

INTERMEDIATE TRAINING SECTION - BLUE

ADVANCED TRAINING SECTION - PURPLE

I recommend that you start in the ORANGE BASIC TRAINING AREA. If you are just starting to train your dog (which many of you are), make sure you begin with the SIT behavior. If you will notice, there are two different ways to train your dog to sit. If you do not know, just watch the first clip and that will help you to decide.

Again, remember that a behavior is nothing more than a series of small steps. Watch each clip in it's entirety, and work with your dog. When your dog understands that clip, just move on to the next clip. The most important thing is to take it slow, and work at your dog's pace.

Remember, this method is totally designed for you to spend more time on one clip than another. And because all dogs are different, some will learn some clips faster than others.
