A lot of people don't know, but I actually started originally as a bird trainer. I had the opportunity to do the animal show at Universal Studios with "Fred" the Cockatoo from the old Baretta TV series. Before that, to make money while going through college, I used to hand tame wild Macaws and Cockatoos that just had come in the country. I have also had the opportunity to train a variety of other birds including hawks, eagles, seagulls, pigeons, doves, penguins, and ravens.
What I have learned with all of these birds is that they need care, and they need to be with a person that has a desire to care for them and look out for their best interests. The following links below will help you with these two important aspects:
