This is a great technique for dogs that are very high strung. We will be using a tactile reward which means petting the dog once he SITS. With this type of dog we want to calm him down and keep him in control and avoid getting him excited. Using treats can excite him. Once your dog begins to calm down, you can then begin to introduce treats into teaching behaviors.
