Dog Rewards

In training all animals, one of the first things to understand is that they all need some sort of motivation, and often this comes in rewards or reinforcements. Sometimes it’s a good idea to put yourself in your dog’s place. If you think about yourself and your workplace, you need to know that the work you do is appreciated. That’s why you get raises, or don’t get raises. The same thing really applies to animals. They need that motivation too.
In general, you will be using food rewards for the training of many types of dogs. But based on the animal's personality, the types of rewards may vary. They might be food rewards, tactile rewards (petting the dog), or maybe playing with a ball or toy. Remember, anything your dog liked is a reward!
